Mini Stoneware Pottery Doumbek Darbuka Hand Drum Goat Skin Head
This mini sized hand thrown stoneware doumbek is a joy to play! Light in weight for its size, it has a great range of tones, and is sensitive to every finger touch. This is a mini "finger" drum, played with gusto. I started making these for children, but adults love them as a little travel drum or for small rituals. As with all my doumbeks the skins is securely glued on, the colored tape just hides the skin edge, you can carefully peel the tape off and replace it with a strip of your favorite cloth. The goat skin is without blemish on this drum. Glazed a buttermilk white. This middle Eastern belly dance style drum includes a clay strap lug mounted at the balance point, so just add a cloth shoulder strap and these are easy to carry and play. Ceramic drums can break, so I highly recommend you store them on a wall hook, away from sunlight and moisture. The tape strip is mainly decorative. but also adds to make a non slip surface to rest your hand. This drum is tiny at 7.5 inches high by 5.5 inches at the head.
