Hand thrown stoneware medium size doumbek with a dancing Celtic horned god among the stars, Cernunnos or Herne holding a forked stang and ncised in turquoise slip. The glaze is my smooth buttermilk that picks up all the subtleties of the form. This has a beautiful purple and green multi-colored tie dyed skin to compliment the drum. This middle Eastern belly dance style drum includes a clay strap lug mounted at the balance point, so just add a cloth shoulder strap and these are easy to carry and play. Ceramic drum can break, so I highly recommend you store them on a wall hook, away from sunlight and moisture. The cloth strip is mainly decorative. but also adds to make a non slip surface to rest your hand. This drum is 9.75 inches high by 7 inches at the head, a perfect size for traveling with, but still with a large bass and very crisp top end tones.
