These are Professional Quality Djembe drums I've collected that have it all; sound heart wood, quality rope, a nice playing edge, and a fine goat skin head. Besides the great sound definition I look for, these djembe drums are beautifully carved and finished. Why try to learn on an inferior instrument? Learning is difficult enough! These need not be hit hard to get good sound definition.

Don't be confused! We measure the djembe drum by the actual playing surface, the skin that vibrates! Others often tell you the ring size which is 1-2 inches larger! A twelve inch drum here will equal what others call a 13 or 14 inch drum! These exact drums are what you will be shipped. When ordering note the inventory number below each drum and select that number in the drop down box on the store page. Drums marked SOLD! are gone, but I can check and see if a djembe drum similar is available.

The Khadi (Khari, Hare) wood is rich and varied in grain, protected by a rubber base. Besides great shape and form it has some of the best carving I have seen. the design is classic guinea; waves at the bottom, mountains in the middle, the cloudy filled sky above. I have repaired the inside with epoxy fill and the outside is just barely visible {see detail photo}. It is stable and does not affect the sound at all.
